Reggae legend Joseph Hill in New York City. (1997)
So I’m now on vacation in northern Michigan, the same place and the same time as I learned of the passing of my friend Joseph Hill , also known as “Uncle Lloydy”. I thought I would post this photo of Joseph remembering him on this 11th year since his passing. His message of peace, love and harmony is still being heard today worldwide through his music. I really do miss those live Culture shows, you could always count on them to put on a fantastic show, all killer, and no filler. When they would come to play in NYC everyone would come out to the shows, and it was always jam-packed, even back stage. Guidance and protection Mr. Music, we ALL miss you.
I saw Culture in Rhode Island in June of 1998 at The Ocean Mist…amazing show…best vibes alive!
I included Culture on this fairly recent mix… https://www.mixcloud.com/extraniceness/reggae-showcase-selections-nuff-respect-dj-peter-dante-mix/
