This shot is from down at the fishing village in Greenwhich Town. When many people think of reggae music they think Trench Town, but Greenwhich Town has produced so many famous artists, musicians and producers. Those hailing from Greenwhich farm, as it was once called, include producer Bunny Lee, John Holt, Derrick Morgan, Earl Zero, Rod Taylor, Prince Allah, Phillip Frazier, Michael Prophet, Tappa Zukie, Glen Adams, Lloyd Charmers, Brent Dowe and legendary reggae guitarist Earl”Chinna”Smith and many, many more. The Soul Syndicate Band, reggae’s premier session band during the 70’s also hails from “The Farm” and is responsible for creating the Greeenwhich Town sound and style of reggae mid 1970’s.
