Maxi Priest live at the Ritz in NYC. (1990)
His R&B infused hits include “Close To You”, “Just A Little Bit Longer”, “Wild World”, “Temptress” & “Groovin’ In The Midnight” among others. He has sometimes been called the British Lionel Ritchie, he began his musical career with south London’s Saxon Sound International. Maxi always put on a pretty high energy show. I remember being in the front at this show taking photos while all the ladies were screaming and going crazy. He is also the cousin of the late reggae legend Jacob Miller.
