Perhaps two of the most recognizable names in reggae music today, Sly & Robbie. Together it’s said they have played on 200,000 songs. Starting in the 1970’s and backing almost everyone from Black Uhuru, Burning Spear, Dennis Brown, Bunny Wailer, Half Pint, Beenie Man the list goes on. Not content only recording for reggae artist they also lent their sounds to such diverse artist as Grace Jones, Bob Dylan, Ian Dury, Joe Cocker, The Rolling Stones, Britney Spears, Santana and many more.
Whether it’s the “One Drop” riddim, “Rockers” or “Rub-A-Dub” style their sound is instantly recognized. This image was shot at one of their sessions at Tuff Gong Studio in Kingston.
